Mobilize Recovery is coming to Pahrump, Nevada on September 6! Join renowned recovery advocate Randy Anderson for a brief presentation on the impact advocacy has on our community, and how each of us can play a role in changing how America can address our long standing addiction crisis.

This event is free of charge and breakfast will be provided at the Living Free Cafe right here in Pahrump. Space is extremely limited and all participants must register to attend. Be part of one of the first stops of the nationwide Mobilize Recovery Bus Tour and be the change you want to see in your community!

Randy Anderson – if you don’t know him already – is a person living in long term recovery hailing from Minnesota and is a nationally recognized advocate for recovery and reform. Randy serves on the board of directors for the MN Second Chance Coalition and there he was given the opportunity to testify during the 2015/2016 legislative session during the drug sentencing reform hearings. Because of his testimony – and that of others – Minnesota had the most significant change in drug sentencing in nearly three decades. He is grateful to know because of those sentencing guideline changes, approximately 700 less people will be incarcerated yearly because they have the disease of addiction. In March 2019 Randy decided to follow is passion and venture out on his own and started Bold North Recovery and Consulting. Randy is also heavily involved with other advocacy projects throughout the nation.

“My father used to say, “either you have a seat at the table or you’re probably on the menu” and I’m not on anyone’s menu,” Randy said recently.

“Elected officials and others are making decisions about us whether we like it or not. I – for one –  want to be part of that decision process and that’s why advocacy is so important to me.”

The session will provide attendees with practical information about how to be an advocate for change in their communities. Further, the training will demonstrate and provide easy steps for people to advocate at the local, state and federal levelsl. This session will demonstrate how important advocacy is and the impact it can have.  The three objectives of this exclusive training will be to share the definition of advocacy, understand the steps to be an advocate, and a powerful clal to action to become an advocate NOW.

Taking place at the Living Free Cafe, the advocacy event is expected to fill up super quickly!  Living Free Cafe is a 501(c)(3) charity located in Pahrump, NV and provides addiction treatment, sober (transitional) living (including a women & children’s home), and discounted and pro bono recovery programs for adults and adolescents.
